Last week I came home to a package perched on my doorstep. Don’t you love that feeling? It’s as adrenaline pumping as the old school AOL “You’ve Got Mail” greeting. The label indicated it came from Wouldn’t it b nice, a company started by Carrie Wittenstein, just one of her many ventures.
Carrie’s website states that “Wouldn’t It B Nice? llc promotes a philosophy of kindness and inspiration through apparel and accessories that are fun to wear and thoughtful to share. Whether you’re wearing our T’s, enjoying our collectibles or playing with possibilities in our workshops, you’ll see the power you have to make a difference in big and small ways every day. From a simple smile to an audacious act of kindness, you can “b” the change you want to see in the world — starting right now. Wouldn’t it b nice?”
Carrie’s transitioning to other adventures now and I took the opportunity of her clearance sale to snatch up a few Christmas gifts.
When I opened the package in addition to my order, I found a nice yoga bag, cute notecards and a cozy scarf and headband. Surely someone else’s order had been packed with mine, I emailed Carrie.
Here was her response:
No mistake… those extra goodies are my gift to you! I really appreciate your support over the years and as I was packing things up for donation, I wanted to give a little something extra to everyone who ordered recently. It was so much fun to give and know I was sending off some surprises. So, enjoy! Happy Holidays! Carrie
Huh?
While I’m not surprised Carrie is walking her talk, it was such an unexpected delightful gesture. When we are bombarded with news of craziness and tragedy in the world, it’s a breath of fresh air to be enveloped in kindness.
How will you rise to Carrie’s challenge today:
