After many years of poor sleep, I finally thought I had cracked the code to a solid restful night. MELTing regularly with a dose of essential oils, usually lavender on my feet, and I wouldn’t stir all night.
Then last week I had a relapse of those sleepless nights, tossing and turning till the sun came up. What? I thought this was all behind me! Ugh!!!! After two nights I knew this just couldn’t go on.
Sleep is one of those things that we pay little credence to in the health arena. The organic veggies and Burpees get all the press, yet sleep is absolutely essential for all functions of our body and our total well being.
I decided I needed to kick things up a bit, because without sleep, I’m not a happy camper. I remembered my fabulous diffuser and decided to experiment with a mix of Calming Blend, Lavender and Ylang Ylang. Yep, there they are on my nightstand.
Lavender is commonly used for soothing and calming. I decided to up the antee and add a few drops of the Calming Blend (bottle labeled Serenity in this pic). This is the perfect blend to relax the body, calm the mind and emotions and create a peaceful feeling. It’s wonderful to aid in a restful night’s sleep, to calm a restless baby or child, or to help reduce the anxious feelings and stress so many of us feel.
Finally I added a few drops of Ylang Ylang (heavenly!). Ylang Ylang is very aromatic and it very effective when used in a diffuser.
Worked like a charm and now I’m hooked on using the diffuser nightly and sleeping like a baby again.
