Hope all the east coasters are safe and warm. Though Juno didn’t pack the punch that was expected, many are still home enjoying a snow day.
Here are some of my favorite ways to weather the storm:
Bake something. Saturday’s snowstorm resulted in a big baking fail – raisin protein muffins somewhat resembling hockey pucks. I’ve been experimenting baking protein powder and though I’ve had a few hits, this was not one of them. May just go with the traditional chocolate chip cookie today.
Curl up with a cup of tea and read. Finished Me Before You recently (whoa! Intense!) and will dive into Behind the Beautiful Forevers this week.
Watch a movie. I especially like to catch up on documentaries I’ve been meaning to watch. My long list currently includes films like Fed Up and Stories We Tell.
Tackle an overdue project. This applies to work and home. I finally drafted the revisions for my website, and am slowly working through cleaning out my bedroom closet. I’m not sure if we’ll even have enough storms to finish that project!
Call a friend. I had two long and overdue conversations during Saturday’s nasty weather and am SO happy I picked up the phone to make the calls.
However you spend your day, relax and embrace it! As Mark Twain said, “If you don’t like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes.”
