I hope you had a fun and relaxing long weekend.
Anyone else feel that this is the Monday-ist Wednesday ever?
The weekend for me was the perfect rhythm of relaxation, connection and taking care of some much needed projects around the home.
When I was on the plane to Pittsburgh recently, I did a brain dump of home projects, fun summer outings, business ideas, things I want to be sure make it on my schedule, people I want to connect with and much more. If you’ve been around here for a minute, you know I love a good list. Or a bunch of them!
I had very few commitments going into the weekend, other than hosting a barbecue on Saturday and meeting a friend for tea on Monday.
This left a lot of white space.
I don’t allow for white space enough in my days and so I was able to hang out and do some things just for my own enjoyment to renew and recharge.
For example, I zipped through a James Patterson mystery, caught up on podcasts, walked at the beach, danced at Zumba a few times and binged the rest of Ted Lasso (gonna miss those characters!).
I also spent a half day decluttering and reorganizing my pantry. I know, not as much fun, BUT much needed.
Too often the relaxing and nourishing activities, like curling up with a good book, go on the back burner because all of the adulting activities, like cleaning out the pantry, seem far more important. We all have things we must do, but making the fun things a priority to is just as important to our well being.
What are the things you’ve been thinking about doing but not giving enough time, energy and attention to?
Consider building more white space into your week, then allowing time for your favorite recharging activities.
PS – This pic was the only photo I took in the last week. I caught this fabulous double rainbow coming out of Zumba the other night.
