Previously, he was a lawyer in Yokosuka, Japan, and San Diego, California. Prior to practicing law, he founded a consulting firm, co-founded an Education Action Committee, taught algebra and coached soccer as part of the Teach for America program on the Texas-Mexico border. He was selected as a 2019 Presidential Leadership Scholar and is currently receiving a Master of Arts in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. LT Maddox is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Texas A&M University`s Bush School of Government & Public Service, and Baylor University. Lt. David âBenâ Maddox is a member of the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General and is currently assigned to the staff of the Commander of the Washington Naval District as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate in Washington, DC. He advises the Regional Commander in the areas of military justice, personnel law, investigations and administrative law.
