My Story
A bit about me……

I have danced to many different rhythms in my lifetime so far and
I am excited and curious about the ones yet
to emerge.

THE EARLY RHYTHM

I fell in love with movement at a young age and pursued dance, gymnastics and cheerleading through college.
I also became passionate about health after my father underwent a triple bypass at age 38.
I was in Middle School at the time and that experience, as well as his death days after his 52nd birthday reinforced how precious the gift of health and drives my deeper why.

THE RHYTHM OF EXPLORATION

I had a desire to keep my love for fitness and dance alive, and so I became a certified Jazzercise franchise owner in 1990 and began sharing my passion for dance and fitness with customers of all ages.
During this time, I juggled graduate school on top of my part time fitness career and my full-time corporate responsibilities, along with plenty of business travel which helped to satisfy my travel bug of exploring new cities and countries.

THE RHYTHM OF ENTREPRENEURIAL LIFE

In 2002 following a corporate layoff, I decided to become a full-time entrepreneur and opened the Jazzercise Fitness Center of Stamford, CT.
During this period, I was at the intersection of linear and flow, of trusting & acting. As a single woman, and a homeowner, the absence of corporate benefits and a steady paycheck was a new and unfamiliar rhythm.
It was fun, exciting, and exhausting. We consistently ranked in the top five in New England and in the top 50 worldwide, but more importantly we sweat, laughed and touched a lot of lives.
I expanded the brand through the launch of InterPlay Health to bring a multi-dimensional approach to my business by incorporating nutrition and
other wellness products and services. I was craving a life of balance, health and fun, and I figured there were other women out there desiring the same.
During this time, I did a stint on the internet airwaves on FTNS: World’s First Fitness Radio hosting A Matter of Balance: A Woman’s Quest for Health, Harmony & Kick Ass Heels, a show featuring inspiring women and informative experts talking about how to create a healthy and balanced life. I met some really cool people, had a blast and learned a lot.

THE RHYTHM OF REINVENTION

After facing some serious medical issues and enduring four major surgeries, after twenty-three years as an owner, I sold my Jazzercise Center.
This was a true moment of transition and reinvention. I was ready to heal, ready to begin again. I was ready to create something brand new.
I decided to shift the focus of my business to helping clients eliminate chronic pain and fatigue with natural solutions.
I became a MELT Method practitioner and eventually a Wellness Advocate and essential oil educator with doTerra.
By combining hands off body work and essential oils, I helped clients to obtain powerful results.

THE RHYTHM OF TODAY

But there was something missing.
I realized it was time to stop. To stop running, stop achieving, stop doing, and find rhythm in life right now.
I knew in my bones that our rhythms go deeper than a fitness class or an essential oil.
It’s what we cultivate in our minds, how we nourish our energy, the way we curate our time and the environments we surround ourselves with.
It’s all of that. And more.

BASIC RESUME BITS...

I hold a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Labor Relations and a MA in Industrial Relations, which basically means I’m good with people and communication is one of my superpowers.
I spent the first 15 years of my career in Human Resources and Leadership Development, so I clean up nicely and am at home presenting in front of a crowd.
I appeared regularly on www.ehow.com as a fitness expert and have been a frequent contributor for MindBodyGreen, Natural Awakenings, Expert Beacon and other health and fitness publications, so I can write and love to share information.
