I always love getting recommendations on anything from restaurants to beauty products to books. And since you get what you give, this year I began sharing some of the things that keep me happy and healthy each month.
Here a a few of my March favorites:
1. Brussels sprouts. Yes, I said it. I have become a fanatic for the B-sprouts! It’s so simple and easy to make a delicious dish with them. Sure, they provide you with lots of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, folic acid and fiber, but they’re tasty too! We generally make a pot of rice every week. It’s handy to have in the frig ready to go with whatever is on the menu. I saute Brussels sprouts, mushrooms and spinach in olive oil, added salt and pepper and served over rice. YUM! Since the rice is already made and I can this lunch ready in less than ten minutes.
2. Rebounding! I LOVE rebounding! Who knew? I had been reading about it so much lately, especially in terms of what a wonderful detoxifier it is. So, I jumped on board (ooh, there’s a pun!) and asked for a rebounder for my Birthday. It is the most energizing thing I’ve done in awhile and to be honest I only use it for five or ten minutes at a time. If I’m working at home, I sent my iPhone alarm to go off each hour and go down and jump for five minutes. If I’m heading out to present a workshop or teach a class I blast this song (which I’m totally digging!!) and jump for the length of the song. In less than five minutes my energy, and my mood are soaring. I’m telling you, you will want to keep playing this song over and over!
3. Calling me Home by Julie Kibler – Ok, not a health and wellness read, BUT since reading is one of my favorite way to spend downtime and recharge, I was excited to immerse myself in this beautiful story for an upcoming Book Club event. One of the best I’ve read in awhile!
What’s been keeping you happy and healthy lately? Would love to hear!
