I put my rollerblades on last week.
I haven’t taken a spin on them since last summer.
It’s shaky at first trying to find my rhythm, and get into a groove.
It’s also rocky and unsteady. I skate at the beach and the pavement there isn’t ideal.
I really have to be looking at the ground at all times lest a chasm in the pavement trip me up, which happened a few years ago and landed me in the emergency room.
I’d love to have a nice smooth safe place to skate, but this is what I have right now. And the view always makes me smile, so I go with it.
It made me think of our current climate. I’d like to have smoother, safer terrain to navigate right now…to return to traveling, entertaining, going to my gym, not wearing a mask.
But that’s not what I have right now.
Our environment is uncertain, but we can still show up, cultivate a mindset and generate the energy that supports ad serves us.
We can still spend our time on activities that nourish us and surround ourselves with people who lift us up.
We can still be intentional.
Things can be rock and the terrain unlevel AND we can find a brand new rhythm this fall to flourish. And having pink skates doesn’t hurt!
