It’s hard to believe it’s been over six weeks since surgery and my hiatus from business. I’ve still got a ways to go, but am much more mobile now. Last week I embarked on a bit of research to see how recovery could be aided by a lounge chair by the pool and a pina colada. Turns out it is a powerful prescription! Here’s a glimpse of my morning view. Not too shabby!
Though I’m not ready to be fully back in action and have to take it slow, I’m beginning to put some things into place for the New Year and I wanted to share a few things.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays (second only to Christmas Eve). I’ve been reading the many posts on gratitude this month, and have been participating in one as well. There is SO much to be thankful for this year, and I could make a REALLY long list, but I want to take a moment to just focus on the last six weeks.
First I am truly grateful and indebted to my three surgeons, I definitely had the dream team. My family has been my rock. Nurse Rich really rose to the occasion and my mom was always there to support, swiffer and fold. Then there is my incredible circle of friends….the visits, tea, soup, chocolate, books, laughs and love have kept me completely surrounded with love.
And finally, faith. Above all else it will carry you through.
Happy Thanksgiving!
