The last week was one of those “circle of life” experiences, two funerals and one first communion.
Among the events, we celebrated the life of my Great Aunt Betty, a truly remarkable woman. Aunt Betty had 10 children, 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
She was the first woman to go to college in my family, she graduated in1939 from Seton Hill College
where she majored in French and was the president of the French Club and the vice president of her senior class.
Not too shabby! And that’s only a small part of her story.
She was one of the most laid back women I’ve ever known. With ten kids what other options do you have?!
She gives new meaning to that popular phrase:
Keep Calm & Carry On!
Though there is so much more about her to share, but I think that captures a key part of her essence.
I’m making it my motto this week.
