Since that tax deadline is looming around the corner, it’s time to think about your money. Today’s guest blogger, Christine Bové, is a Feng Shui Expert, and get help us get the financial chi flowing in the right direction!
How you treat your money matters. A cluttered wallet, lost checkbook and bills stuffed in a drawer are huge money blocks. You don’t need to be an accountant or expert with numbers, but if you want to change your money flow you need to show money you appreciate it. Begin by respecting your money and embracing it every time you purchase a new item, pay a bill or receive money. We are so programmed to see money as a bad thing, having it or spending it. Negative thoughts about money push it away and leave in its place stress and frustration.
You need to embrace money and see it simply as an exchange of energy giving you the freedom to live your life the way you prefer. Let me share some simple and easy steps you can take to begin to shift your money mindset from negative to positive.
1) Style Your Wallet:
What does your wallet say about you? First let’s talk about the style, color and use of the wallet. Do you love it? When you open it to purchase something is it easy to find what you need? Does it look and feel expensive? Any time you need to look into your wallet it should make you feel abundant, happy and relaxed because you know where everything is. If, on the other hand, you reach for your wallet and it’s cluttered, disorganized and you struggle to find money you automatically shift to a negative mindset and your energy decreases impacting the moment when you’re making that purchase. It’s important to clean out and organize your wallet on a weekly basis.
One more thing I do recommend is treating yourself to a very nice wallet. It may not be filled with $100 bills but it should make you feel like it is!
2) Style Your Checkbook:
Checkbooks are a personal preference, you might use it all the time or once in a blue moon. Either way, it is important to keep your checkbook in a safe space and find a cover that makes you feel good when you open it. If you are a stylish gal, grabbing your checkbook in some boring blue or black color is just not fun. Be more stylish and consider purchasing a cover that feels luxurious, fun and stylish.
3) Style Your Financial Papers:
Paying your bills or doing your bookkeeping is boring, but that shouldn’t keep you from doing it in style! You can find colorful and fun file folders and sorters at office supply or stationery stores. Consider creating a system using colors or a certain design. Select styles and colors that make you feel good, coordinate them by colors i.e. earth-tones like yellow or brown are good for receipts. Green, purple, or blues are good for ongoing bills that need your attention daily and red is an auspicious color and is ideal for things you want to save for or manifest. The key is to define your own organizing style and use it however it works best for you.
Just these 3 simple steps can help you shift your mindset and relationship with money. This is your Feng Shui stylist giving your permission to have fun and define your money style! Then watch how your attitude change will impact your money flow!
