First of all,…. there are no Wordle spoilers here. This is a random image from Google, not a clue to today’s puzzle.
I purposely chose not to use a screenshot of my own efforts for that reason. If you’re not familiar with Wordle, then just go with me for a moment.
Anyway, this morning I was stumped for a bit on my daily Wordle. Given the letter placements I had by my third attempt, I felt certain that it must begin with two consonants, and I was trying to force it based on my preconceived notion.
I tried, and tried, attempting to force various words that just wouldn’t fit.
Then one of my favorite quotes from Wayne Dyer popped into my head.
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Ah, what if I flipped the script on this (one of my favorite phrases lately) and went in a completely different direction.
BINGO! (no that wasn’t the word, but I was able to nail it).
How often do we continue to try to jam a square peg into a round hole when a simple shift of perspective can immediately change everything?
This is one of the reasons I have worked with a coach for years, been a part of various mastermind groups, and also why I love coaching so much.
Many times, the obstacle to achieving your goals is not what you think. It does however, usually require you to look at the problem from a different angle.
Whether it’s your daily Wordle, or a big audacious goal, try changing the way you look at things, as Mr. Dyer suggests, and see what happens.
